White electric car charging from a wall charger in a garage

EV charger installation for homes and fleets

A home wall charger, a row of workplace chargers or a golf club cart-charging bay, wired to run on your own solar where it can. We size the supply, the charger and the solar together so the car charges on sunshine.

EV charging across the North Island

We work with customers throughout the North Island, not just Hamilton. Our EV services cover AC chargers for homes and workplaces, DC fast charging, and vehicle-to-home charging where the vehicle and equipment are compatible, all designed alongside your solar.

What's included

  • Home wall chargers sized to your supply and solar
  • Workplace, fleet and depot charging with load management
  • DC fast chargers for businesses, fleets and charging sites
  • Vehicle-to-home charging where the vehicle and equipment are compatible
  • Golf club cart charging and EV charging station sites
  • Solar and battery integration so charging uses your own power
  • Installation by EWRB-registered electrical workers

Charging that runs on your roof

An electric vehicle is the biggest new load most homes and businesses add. Charged from the grid at night it is cheap; charged from your own solar in the day it is close to free. We design the charger, the supply and the solar together so the car takes your excess production first.

For homes we install wall chargers matched to your supply and, where you want it, wired for solar priority and scheduling. For workplaces, fleets and depots we add load management so several chargers share the site supply safely.

Fleets, golf clubs and charging sites

For sites that need vehicles back on the road quickly, we design and install DC fast chargers alongside AC chargers, sized to the supply and the way the fleet runs.

Workplace and fleet charging suits a rooftop array: the vehicles are parked in daylight, so the solar goes straight into the batteries. Golf clubs with electric cart fleets are a natural fit, charging carts overnight from a battery filled by the clubhouse roof during the day.

We also design and coordinate EV charging station sites for businesses and landowners, including the supply upgrade and the network connection application.

Dedicated EV charging bays in a commercial car park

Installed by registered electrical workers

Every charger is installed and tested by EWRB-registered electrical workers through our SEANZ-authorised installation partners. You get a walkthrough of the app, scheduling and solar modes, and support after handover.

How the job runs

  1. Step 1 of 3

    Check the supply

We look at your switchboard, your supply capacity and where the car parks, then recommend the charger and any upgrade needed.

  2. Step 2 of 3

    Tie it to solar

If you have or want solar, we set the charger to prioritise your own production so daytime charging is close to free.

  3. Step 3 of 3

    Install

Our registered installers fit the charger, test it and show you how scheduling and solar-priority modes work.

EV charging: common questions

Can I charge my EV from solar?

Yes. With a solar-aware charger the car takes excess production first. We size the array with the car in mind, and a battery can carry that into the evening.

What does an EV charger installation cost?

It depends on the charger, the cable run and whether the switchboard needs an upgrade. We quote after a free assessment rather than publish a price.

Do you do workplace and fleet charging?

Yes. Multiple chargers with load management so the site supply is not overloaded, plus solar and storage where the roof and the numbers allow.

Can you set up charging for golf carts?

Yes. Golf clubs with electric cart fleets are one of the sites we design for, often paired with a clubhouse solar system.

Do you install DC fast chargers?

Yes. As well as AC wall chargers we design and install DC fast chargers for businesses, fleets and charging sites, including the supply upgrade and the network connection application they usually need.

Can my car power my home?

With vehicle-to-home (V2H) charging, a compatible car and bidirectional charger can run the house from the car's battery. It depends on the vehicle and the equipment, so we check compatibility before we recommend it.

Do you also install public EV charging stations?

We design and coordinate EV charging station sites for businesses and landowners, including the network connection and supply upgrade.
